As part of European Heritage Open Days, residents are invited to step inside Lisnamallard House, an elegant early-18th-century residence with a fascinating story to tell.
Once the home of the Scott family of Scott’s Mills, Lisnamallard House has witnessed centuries of change. Explore the house and grounds and discover how this remarkable property evolved from a grand family home to a US Army base.
The grounds also hold an important and fascinating piece of local heritage — historic bee boles, a rare discovery that offers a glimpse into traditional beekeeping and life on the estate in times gone by.
Hear the stories behind the building from Omagh Heritage Forum’s Vincent Brogan and architect Mark Hackett, who will offer fascinating insights into its architecture, history and changing role.
This is a unique chance for local residents to see inside a historic building that is not normally open to the public — and to experience a little-known part of Omagh’s heritage for yourself.
