Knotty Pine and The Drunken Lullabies (2017)
Following a sell-out performance last year the Knotty Pine String Band and the Drunken Lullabies have joined forces again.
It has always been acknowledged that American roots music has its foundations rooted in these islands. Our ancestors from all traditions brought their culture and especially their music to the new world.
There it developed and grew in various directions while keeping its own integrity and style.
Music from here and Scotland has remained intact and even grown while, at the same time has influenced and inspired many.
Both Sides Now brings it back together again with a blend of Irish, Scottish and Americana. The Knotty Pine String Band have joined with The Drunken Lullabies to bring you a sound with “The Devil goes Down to Georgia” mixed with a Scottish reel “The Glasgow Reel”. Everybody’s favourite “Danny Boy “with twin fiddles also gets special treatment. There are songs such as “Hard Times”,” The Long Black Veil” and even “The Leaving of Liverpool”.
There will be sets from each band and when they come together the effect is magical.
A night you will not forget!
