‘All My Brothers’ – The 38th Irish Brigade in WW2

After many years of research and interview, drawing initially on their father's service in the 2nd London Irish Rifles throughout North Africa, Sicily and Italy ; Richard and Edmund O'Sullivan have produced a series of documentaries on this theatre of the war. This battalion along with the 1st Royal Irish Fusiliers and 6th Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers made up the 38th Irish Brigade within 78th(Battleaxe) Division of the 8th Army. From the desert heat of Tunisia, the conquest of Sicily through the brutal mountain warfare of Italy the series is all filmed on location. This particular episode concentrates on the Adriatic campaign ( east central Italy) in late 1943. With direct connection to Omagh and Clogher officers and soldiers ,this premiere viewing will be of special interest in our locality. The 30 minute long film will be followed by insight into these history forming events by presenter, Richard O' Sullivan and renowned Second World War historian Richard Doherty ,author of several historical military publications. A poignant meeting of relatives of three Inniskillings killed in action in Italy in 1943 is scheduled for this event.
